Woodbridge is an enormous suburban village in Irvine, California which offer two man-made lakes with docks, and two beach lagoons at its center. There is an array of single family homes, condos, and townhomes here.
This community is comprised of four square miles with the 405 freeway at its southern border. It claims its own collection of public schools with five elementary facilities, two middle schools, and a high school. Woodbridge was developed by The Irvine Company in 1975, and most of it was fully completed by the mid-1990s. The newest development in the community is The Branches which was constructed in 2013 with 48 new homes.
This community is separated into two residential areas known as South Lake and North Lake. Each segment has a large lake in the center that is crossable by a wooden footbridge which is where Woodbridge got its name. The amenities include 22 swimming pools, 13 waders, 16 spas, a splash pad, 24 tennis courts, volleyball courts, horseshoe facilities, a big wheel park, and a fitness course. There are also many parks with playgrounds. The dock facility offers pedal boats, canoes, kayaks, hydro-bikes, and sailboats. And there are even two swim clubs called Bluelake and Stonecreek that have lifeguards and diving boards. The community tennis club trains players for the USTA youth groups.
The Irvine Unified School District offers excellent public education for this area. Students attend Woodbridge High School as well as South Lake Middle and Lakeview Middle School. The elementary schools are Eastshore, Stonecreek, Springbrook, Meadow Park, and Culverdale. The local facilities are California Distinguished and have earned the title of Blue Ribbon Schools.
There are many high end and expansive shopping centers in this region. Freeway access is also convenient for this neighborhood. There are several golf courses in Irvine at clubs like the Oak Creek Golf Club and the Rancho San Joaquin Golf Club.
